It seems I always start these posts with “can you believe it’s x month already?” Well I am going to do it again! It’s November and I am not fully ready for it. November is a special month for me, it’s my birthday month and the 1 year anniversary of this humble digital home of mine.
It’s also the start of the holidays, which here in the US kicks off with thanksgiving. I didn’t grow up celebrating it but I grew to love it. Not the questionable history behind it, but the idea of coming together for a day and taking a moment to be thankful. Whether you are doing a traditional family dinner or a Friendsgiving, here are some ideas of what to add to your thanksgiving table, to make this one extra special.
Last Minute Essentials for a Stylish Thanksgiving Table
Serve Thanksgiving Table in Style
This is the time to break out of the everyday silverware and plates and choose something that is a bit more festive. Add gold utensils such as these, and add some candles with brass candle holders such as these. For plates I would keep it simple with an accent color such as forrest green, which is both festive and beautiful with the gold and brass tones.
Dress the Thanksgiving Table
This year I am all about simplicity, and a few accents to make the table decor pop. That’s why I am suggesting a white or cream tablecloth with a contrasting napkin or place mat. I linked to this place mat before because it’s so affordable and pretty.
Whether you are hosting a big gathering or a more intimate group, use these cute little name card holders for an elevated a personal touch.
For the Thanksgiving Dinner Toast
When it comes to raising a glass after during the delicious dinner, make sure you are doing it in style. Invest in a good decanter, wine glasses and fun monogram or personalized coasters. Pick items with gold details to match the utensils and add a bit of sparkle to your thanksgiving table. I love this delicate set from Antropologie. Have a safe and happy holiday!
