Welcome to week two of my fall guide, all about beauty! In part one of the fall guide, we covered fashion, but this week, it’s all about beauty! Of anything I buy, Beauty… You know I love you most of all. During the fall, I tend to transition my makeup from gold and pink tones to more rust and bronze colors. I still wear sunscreen and keep my skin glowing with the help of some tanning drops, but otherwise, my beauty routine gets a full makeover to match the season.
What you need for Fall Beauty in 2021
The Beauty Picks
Skin
Let’s start with skin. If you are like me, your skin may start to feel tighter and drier as the temperature drops and the air dries. That is why I transition to a heavier moisturizing product for the colder months. My go-to is the no-fuss CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. After receiving a sample of the Abeille Royale Advanced Youth Watery Oil, I am hooked and recommend it for the fall and beyond. It glides on like a dream and is quickly absorbed into the skin, creating a soft and supple complexion seconds after application. I am also a big fan of their foundation, which blurs imperfections without overpowering your skin. The shade selection is also pretty extensive, so it’s easy to color match.
Lips
For lips, my picks are rooted both in nostalgia and a new discovery. When Lancôme relaunched Juicy Tubes, I was immediately taken back to my teen years when Juicy Tubes were the ultimate sign of luxury and sophistication. I love the shade Hallucination, whose shimmery peach looks great on its own or over lipstick. As for the new discovery, I was influenced by Courtney from pretty little fawn, who shared the beautiful Gucci Beauty Lipstick a few weeks back. I tried it and can attest that it’s sheer, moisturizing, and leaves the right amount of color on the lips. I’m in love with the Louise Orange shade, which is truly the perfect color for fall.
Eyes
On the eyes, I love to use the Tarte Tartelette™ Toasted Eyeshadow Palette. It is one of my favorites, with rich, pigmented, and warm shades reminiscent of fall foliage—and smells like warm pastries. I also highly recommend investing in some Caviar Stick Eye Shadows by Laura Mercier, available in shimmery and matte tones. I love how they are super pigmented, blendable, and easy to apply, and recommend the shades Tuxedo, Cocoa, Copper, and Amethyst. And as for mascara, I continue to swear by the Illia Fullest Volumizing Mascara because of how it leaves lashes looking naturally full without clumps or smudges.
That’s it for my fall beauty updates! Remember to keep using sunscreen, drinking plenty of water, and indulging in your favorite self-care rituals. Next week I will also be sharing my final guide, all about sprucing up your home for the fall season. See you then!
